A coaching conversation does not require a polished agenda. Bringing a little context and a willingness to notice what matters can be a useful beginning.
Bring the question as it is
Your starting point might be a decision, a recurring tension, or a sense that something needs attention. It is okay if the wording changes during the conversation.
Bring your own context
Consider what has been happening, what you have already tried, and what you would like to be different. You choose what to share and what to keep private.
Bring permission to think out loud
Reflection can be useful before a conclusion. The conversation is a space to examine possibilities and identify a next step that belongs to you.
A few questions to carry with you
Pause and notice.
- What would feel useful to think about right now?
- What context would help someone understand this question?
- What would I like to leave with, even if the bigger answer is still forming?
One suggested next step
Make it small enough to begin.
Write a few sentences beginning with “What I would like to explore is…” and bring them with you.
